An award-winning interior designer, Shaynna Blaze is known to many for her television roles on Selling Houses Australia, The Block, Shaynnas World of Design, Deadline Design, Buying Blind and the winner of Celebrity Apprentice Australia. But away from the spotlight, Shaynna is also a passionate advocate for women, and a social justice campaigner who has lent her voice to a number of organisations tackling domestic violence, most recently as the executive producer of The Fort, a feature film written and co-directed by her children Carly and Jess about one womans battle to escape her abusive marriage while attempting to shelter her son from the realities of domestic violence which is scheduled for release this year.
Shaynna and her family created Voice of Change to amplify the voices of victim-survivors of family violence, to champion meaningful education about and action against family violence, and to bring about prevention and change. Voice of Change creates arts projects that give a voice to people experiencing or who have experienced family violence. Art therapy a form of expressive therapy that uses the creative process of making art to improve a persons physical, mental, and emotional well-being provides the framework for Voice-of-Changes arts-based approach. They believe that everyone has a role to play in preventing family violence, and that education and conversation are key.
