Ray Martin, AM, is a legend in Australian journalism, with an unmatched record of Gold and Silver Logies and Peoples Choice awards. He was Chairman of the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation and a member of the Council for Aboriginal reconciliation for 9 years. His great, great grandmother was a Kamilaroi woman, and he is currently on the Board of Walk a While Foundation. Ray is also a mad keen photographer.
Ken Duncan, OAM, is an iconic Australian photographer with a string of national and international awards to his credit. After visiting Haasts Bluff in central Australia, Ken recognised that the local community had little access to the technology most artists take for granted. Now, as Founder and Chairman of Walk a While Foundation, his mission is to walk alongside the Indigenous people of central Australia, using the creative arts as common ground, to provide the tools and skills they need to engage in meaningful employment. Ken refuses to see another generation of Indigenous children grow up without hope.
Walk a While Foundation provides Indigenous Australians in remote communities with the tools and skills needed to relieve their financial hardship by engaging in meaningful employment within their own communities. Their vision is for education, empowerment and cultural exchange leading to true equality.
